‘Assassins in Want’ Fundraiser Elevating Cash for Psychological Well being

Several Assassin’s Creed communities and content creators come together to raise funds for the World Federation for Mental Health.

Several video games were released in 2020, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but far more have been delayed or pushed out of their release windows. This comes as no surprise, not least due to the impact COVID 19 has had on the gambling industry, but perhaps more importantly, the lives of the people who make up the gambling industry. With this in mind, several members of the larger Assassin’s Creed community have come together to raise funds and raise awareness for the mentally ill.

The Assassin’s Creed Community Fundraiser 2021, titled “Assassins in Need,” will support the World Federation for Mental Health in collaboration with multiple content creators and community members. The Ones Who Came Before, a highly respected Assassin’s Creed community, started this fundraiser and has partnered with several others including AccessTheAnimus and over 20 content creators to raise funds and mental health awareness among others.

The money will be donated to the aforementioned mental health organization, which is an “international, multi-professional, non-governmental organization”. It was founded in 1948 around the same time as the United Nations and the World Health Organization. The World Federation’s website sets out three main goals: to raise public awareness of the importance of mental health while improving understanding and attitudes about mental disorders, promoting mental health and preventing mental disorders, and care, treatment and recovery of people with mental disorders.

The Ones Who Came Before community aims to raise funds each year for purposes related to the franchise, and as many in the community know, mental health has made its mark over the past year. Last year it raised £ 530 (or about $ 732) for the Italian Red Cross to help fight the pandemic. Your goal for the World Federation for Mental Health is £ 550 (or about $ 760). For those willing to donate to the cause that has almost 70% of its goal in 4 days, please click here.

Any donation will be helpful, and fans should keep an eye on which Assassin’s Creed content creators are participating, likely via TOWCB’s social media, as more surprises are reportedly planned. It remains to be seen what these are exactly, but the larger community that comes together for a good cause is a bit heartwarming to see.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
