Avli on the Park chef shares Mediterranean Weight-reduction plan dinner recipes

CHICAGO (WLS) – With many Chicagoers looking healthy this summer, the Mediterranean diet is one that keeps people happy and guilt-free.

It is inspired by countries around the Mediterranean like Greece, southern Italy, France, Spain, Morocco and more.

Common ingredients in the diet include olive oil, legumes and beans, fruits, and low-fat dairy products like feta cheese and Greek yogurt.

The Mediterranean Diet results in a low-fat, high-fiber diet full of vitamins, proteins, and other elements while adding great flavor to you.

Nikolaos Kapernaros is the chef at Avli on the Park. Some of the dishes he creates on the menu include chickpea and tahini hummus, Greek-style ratatouille, and more.
