Bognor nurses to tackle Three Peaks Problem for psychological well being charity Thoughts

Mental health nurses Peter and Emma Young have seen firsthand the effects of Covid-19 on the country’s mental health at work and in the community.

The couple, who work for the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, hope that with the support of the public, their colleagues, friends and family, they will raise as much as possible for Mind, which provides support and advice to anyone suffering from mental health problems .

Emma said, “I’m very excited to be competing in the National Three Peaks Challenge on behalf of Mind.

“This is one of the toughest but also most exciting challenges of my life and something I wanted to achieve before the big 40.

“To know that the money we raise will be used to improve the lives of people with mental health problems across the UK and to help them through this difficult time is heartwarming.

“Not everyone needs the support of the NHS mental health services, the charity Mind is there to support everyone.”

Peter said, “As a Queen Scout I climbed Snowdon and it was a dream to finish Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

“Doing this and raising money for a brilliant charity means so much to me.”

Emma said, “We are attending this event for Mind because we really believe in their cause.

“The charity helps one in four people in the UK who have a mental health problem every year.

“The money raised will fund their important work, including Mind Infoline, counseling services and Mind’s campaigns.”

The couple is sponsored by Button up Baby in Havant, Precious Moments in Bognor Regis, Town Flowers in Bersted, and The Gym Group in Chichester.
