Additionally, J Cat Beauty is certified cruelty free by Leaping Bunny, a program that certifies cruelty-free products without testing on animals. It is operated by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics in the United States and Canada. The Los Angeles-based makeup company was founded in 2013 and offers an extensive range of products.
“There were a lot of requirements to get the franchise for the brand. It was a huge investment, but I felt it was a great investment. “

Mohan is not a make-up artist herself and said she used the services of a trained staff of make-up artists to work in her salon.
Her Saanvi collection, she said, was designed by her and is an adaptation of western and modern styles.
“It can range from simple to glamorous. I made it so that it can be customized by adding or subtracting … The parts are delivered between eight and 12 working days after assembly. “
Mohan, 37, has been in the beauty business for over 14 years. At 17 she started as an intern in a hair salon. “At first just to finance my studies.” At the time she was studying engineering at UWI, St. Augustine campus.
“That (hairstyle) wasn’t something I really loved back then, but after two or three years I found myself back in business,” worked in a number of salons before deciding to open her own.

Born and raised in Mayaro, Mohan moved to Port of Spain in 2010.
“In 2016 I started doing it by myself from home in Diego Martin. I started working with One Woodbrook in 2018. ”As a single mom of two teenagers, she appreciates the flexibility her job offers and even more as most things are done online.
“As a single parent and with the limitations in my line of business caused by Covid, I had to find different sources of income. Covid19 sparked creativity for sustainability … the responsibility of the economy took priority. The concept of online marketing was very appealing. “
“My dream has always been to start a business that supports the lifestyle and I have!”
