Coronavirus Metrics in Every of Illinois’ 11 Well being Care Areas – NBC Chicago

Each of Illinois’ 11 health regions reports increasing hospital admissions for at least 9 out of 10 days, according to newly released data, as COVID-19 cases increase in areas across the state.

The positivity rate for Region 1, located in the northwest corner of the state, has risen to 9.5% in the past few days – the highest of any region in Illinois.

Under previous Illinois Department of Health regulations, any region with positivity rates greater than 8%, ICU bed availability below 20%, or increased hospital admissions would have had stricter risk mitigation rules.

Region 6, which is located in the eastern part of the state and includes Champaign County, also exceeded the 8% threshold for positivity rates at 8.8%. The region has also seen a rapid surge in COVID hospital admissions over the past month, according to IDPH data.

Region 7, made up of Will and Kankakee counties, has seen a decline in positivity rates in recent days, but is still above the 8% threshold, with the figure now standing at 8.3%. The availability of intensive care beds in the region is also low at 8%.

Hospital admissions and positivity rates are also increasing in other areas. In Region 3, located in the west of the state, the positivity rate has grown rapidly, more than doubling from 2.9% on November 8th to 7.1% on December 7th.
