L’Oréal unveils magnificence tech improvements at CES 2022; seems to be to innovate haircare market

THAT WHAT? L’Oréal unveiled its latest beauty tech innovations at CES 2022, introducing two products for the home and salon hair care market.

THE DETAILS The beauty company presented Colorsonic, a handheld device developed over five years that mixes hair color in a clean process and applies it evenly for consumers at home.

The Coloright product is now an AI-linked hair coloring system for salon stylists that projects the desired color tones with the help of a virtual try-on, and an algorithm that leads to a needs-based, individual hair color with more than 1,500 user-defined color tones.

WHY? As more consumers choose to dye their hair at home and have cemented that habit during the pandemic, the new technological innovations cover both markets for L’Oréal.

Guive Balooch, Global Head of Research and Innovation’s Tech Incubator at L’Oréal, said, “After years of research and development, we are excited to introduce technologies ahead of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show that will enhance the experience for millions of people around the world who dye , modernize their hair at home and in the salon.

“Our goal is to use science and technology to solve age-old problems for consumers, and Colorsonic is a great example of consumer innovation by innovating with consumers.”
