Son’s Quest To Change Dad’s Weight-reduction plan Leads To Well being Meals Shops

ALGONQUIN, IL – A man from Lake in the Hills decided to take matters into his own hands when medication seemed to be of no use in his father’s battle with depression, stress, insomnia, and digestive problems.

So Umar Ahmad started into holistic health counseling and, with the help of doctors, helped his father change his diet by consuming more raw vegetables, green juices and fruit smoothies, according to the Daily Herald. When his father’s health improved dramatically and he was able to get off most of his medication, Ahmad decided to open a health food store called Organic Rootz.

Organic Rootz now has locations in Algonquin, at 1202 S. Main St. and Barrington, 215 N. Hough Street.

The health food store serves a selection of smoothies, cold-pressed organic juices, as well as wraps and sandwiches. The full menu can be found online and the store delivers with DoorDash and Grubhub.
