‘Weight Watchers And The Keto Eating regimen Helped Me Lose 94 Kilos’

My name is Nicole Frey (chunkynicoolgetsfit) and I am 30 years old. I’m from Lawton, Oklahoma and I’m a home mom. I wanted better for my family and myself so I wanted to lose weight and keep it off. While the keto diet worked, it wasn’t something I could do over the long term. So I tried Weight Watchers and started working out every day. Together they helped me lose 94 pounds.

As far as I can remember, I’ve always had a bigger body. We ate a lot of fast food. Not much was cooked. I ate a lot and ate my feelings often. I’ve tried to lose weight dozens of times. When things weren’t moving fast enough with previous diets or workouts, I gave up very quickly.

I remember seeing a video of myself at Christmas 2019 and was horrified at what I saw. I knew then that something had to change. I wanted something better for myself and my family.

On January 1st, 2020 I started a Keto / low carb eating planthat I held onto for most of the year.

It really worked wonders, but it wasn’t something I’ve seen in the long run. I started stressing myself thinking if I had too many carbs I would lose control. Not a healthy way of thinking in the long run.

When I started exercising in March 2021, I switched to staying in a calorie deficit.

Then I started WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) in September 2021.

I prepare all three meals for each day of the week so there are no surprises. I like being able to just open my fridge or freezer and know exactly what I’m going to grab. It wasn’t difficult for me to make these changes. I like all types of food so finding a variety that doesn’t burn out is a fun challenge for me!

I use recipes from the WW app. I like the WW points system, which assigns points to foods based on the amount of calories, saturated fat, sugar, and protein. I’m pretty strict when it comes to diets, it gives me freedom.

I’ll eat that in one day now:

  • Breakfast: Sausage breakfast biscuit and an apple
  • Snack after exercise: A Nutraone Caramel Cookie Crunch Protein Shake
  • Having lunch: Shrimp and asparagus risotto
  • Lunch snack: A banana
  • Dinner: Chicken Alfredo with kale and spinach
  • Evening snack: A Nutraone Caramel Cookie Crunch Protein Shake

I didn’t start exercising right away when I started eating keto / low carb.

I just stuck to my diet change to make sure I wasn’t jumping head first too fast like I’ve done so many times before. I started going to the gym in March 2021 and started slowly. I now love to exercise. This is what a training week looks like:

    • Monday – Thursday: Upper body
    • Tuesday Friday: lower body
    • Wednesday: Cardio / Core
    • Saturday: Circuit training

In all honesty, I love everything I do. I go in every day and strive to be better than the day before. I’ll lift my weights, do an extra set, or do a few more reps. I never want to stop improving.

These three changes have led to my success in losing weight.

      1. I chose the most sustainable diet: It definitely took me a while to figure out which diet worked for me. It’s still a learning curve, but I strive to make better decisions every day.
      2. I have a positive attitude: I could probably be the most pessimistic person when it comes to progress in myself. Knowing that I am on a journey and everyone around me is working towards the same goal to be the best version of myself helps me develop that positive attitude.
      3. I started small with sport: I started small so I wouldn’t burn out or be overwhelmed. Now I burn 800-1,000 calories all the time in a single workout because I don’t stop until I’ve done everything I set out to do that day.

I lost 94 pounds in total.

Weight loss isn’t everything. Finding that inner trust made me the happiest person today. At 30, I feel more beautiful and more confident than ever. I am so grateful that I was able to lose the weight the way I have it. It took a lot of hard work, so many tears and ups and downs. It’s worth it in the end.
